You don't have to do much to prepare for a pressure washing visit — but a few quick steps the night before make the job go faster and protect your stuff. Here's the short list we send to every customer.
The night before
- Move patio furniture, grills, and plants away from the walls being washed (at least 6 feet of clearance).
- Close all windows and exterior doors. Yes, even the basement windows.
- Take down anything fragile — wind chimes, hanging baskets, holiday decor, security cameras with exposed wiring.
- Turn off exterior power outlets at the breaker, or cover with plastic and tape.
- Tell us about any window AC units, leaks, or trouble spots so we can avoid spraying them directly.
The morning of
- Unlock the gate if we need backyard access.
- Move vehicles out of the driveway if we're cleaning concrete.
- Bring pets inside. The detergents are plant-safe but pets get nervous around the noise.
- Make sure outdoor water is on. We bring our own equipment but we use your spigot.
What we handle
Plant protection is on us — we pre-rinse and cover sensitive shrubs and use detergents diluted to safe levels. We bring tarps for landscaping, our own power supply for the equipment, and we leave the site tidy when we're done. You don't need to be home as long as we have water access and you've told us about anything to avoid.
After the wash
Let surfaces dry for a few hours before walking on them, and avoid putting wet furniture back on a freshly cleaned deck until the wood has dried overnight. You'll see the full result once everything is dry — wet siding can look streaky and dry up clean.
